Rohobot began with a simple belief: that a shared plate of Ethiopian food brings people closer. From our kitchen on Eastern Ave in the border of Silver Spring, MD and Washington, DC, we cook the dishes we grew up with, slow-simmered stews, hand-torn injera, and spice blends ground from family recipes. Every wot, tibs, and veggie combo is made the traditional way, because shortcuts have never been part of how we cook.
Rooted in Ethiopian Tradition
The heart of our menu is berbere, our house-made spice blend of chili, garlic, ginger, and warm spices that gives dishes like Doro Wot and Misir Watt their deep, layered flavor. We make our shiro from scratch, simmer our lentils and split peas low and slow, and serve everything over soft, tangy injera. It’s the food of Ethiopian celebrations, brought to your table any day of the week.

Ethiopian dining is communal by nature, and so are we.
